PRESS RELEASE: Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office
2/23/2023
In a stunning announcement that has left many scratching their heads, the Okanogan County Civil Service is offering huge bonuses for anyone willing to take on the thankless jobs of Jail Cook, Corrections Deputy, or Dispatcher.
According to a spokesperson for the county, the bonuses are designed to attract the “best and brightest” to these challenging positions. Entry-level Jail Cooks and Records Clerks will receive a bonus of $4500, while entry-level Corrections Deputies will get $5500. Lateral Corrections Deputies will receive a whopping $10,000, and entry-level Dispatchers will take home $4500, with laterals getting $7500.
But that’s not all: applicants will also have to undergo a rigorous Civil Service Exam, which will be held on March 25th in the Okanogan County Commissioners Hearing room. And if you’re applying for the Corrections Deputy position, be prepared for a grueling Physical Agility Test.
But wait, there’s more: if you want to test for the Records Clerk position, it’ll cost you $20. Yes, you read that right: $20. It’s like the county is practically giving away these positions!
So what are you waiting for? If you’re ready to take on the challenge of being a Jail Cook, Corrections Deputy, or Dispatcher, head on over to okanogancounty.org and click on Job Opportunities. And remember: the bonuses may be insane, but the job is even crazier.
Oh, and we can’t forget to mention that Okanogan County Civil Service is
an equal opportunity employer (EOE)! We just love to sprinkle some
diversity in between all the drab uniforms and bland cafeteria food. So
whether you’re black, white, brown, green, or purple, we’ll consider
your application just the same. We don’t discriminate based on race,
gender, or sexual orientation…unless, of course, you’re too different
from us. Just kidding (sort of). But seriously, if you want to join our
team, you better be ready to conform to our standards and fit in with
the rest of the drones.
