DISCLAIMER: This is a real on going story, and not intended to demean the business owners who have been treated badly by a few for refusing to continue doing a free service that is costing them $$$$$. Please stop in and give Aeneas Valley Country Store your thanks for what they do for the community!
Attention all residents of Aeneas Valley! Your favorite country store is implementing an exciting new policy starting April 1st that is sure to have you jumping with joy. That’s right, we’re talking about our new per package charge of $2!
We know what you’re thinking, “But wait, isn’t it the store’s responsibility to accept and hold onto packages for the community?” Well, not anymore! With the explosive growth of our community, we simply can’t keep up with the overwhelming amount of packages we receive on a weekly basis. We’ve even had to purchase a shed just to store them all!
And don’t even get us started on the amount of work it takes to manage all these packages. Our poor employees are constantly running back and forth, handing out keys, answering phone calls, and dealing with complaints. It’s a wonder they have any time to actually do their jobs.
So, we’ve come up with the perfect solution. Starting April 1st, we’ll be charging $2 per package and requiring a signed agreement acknowledging that you agree to have your packages delivered to the store. If you don’t sign the agreement by April 1st, we’ll assume you’ve chosen to have your packages delivered elsewhere and we’ll refuse delivery. And if you break the agreement, we’ll stop accepting packages altogether and force you to find another way to get your deliveries.
We’ll also be implementing some new rules to make the whole process run smoother. We kindly ask that you don’t hand off your key to another customer and that you wait until delivery drivers have finished unloading before entering the package shed. We know, we know, these rules might seem a bit strict, but trust us, they’re for the greater good.
Oh, and did we mention that a staggering 80% of package pickups don’t even result in a purchase at our store? That means our employees are wasting valuable time on people who don’t even support us. But with this new per package charge, we can finally put that time and effort towards helping customers who actually contribute to our bottom line.
We hope you understand our reasoning behind this new policy and we look forward to continuing to serve our community. And who knows, maybe one day you’ll even decide to purchase something from us while picking up your packages!
